The seductive ebb and flow of news feeds

Constant keyboard access

Instant intimate access to individuals

The erroneous pathway of statistics,

Constantly competing for existence,

Trampling compliments, community and meaningfulness

Read this,

        devour that,

follow this,

         follow that,

Lose this,

        win that,

                Less effort,

                more friends,

                gain reward.

                                   More effort,

                                   less friends,

                                   get ignored

Before the screen,

Darken its twisted sympathies

Call out its force fed empathy

Look up when heads are down

Outdo the machine of false appearances

                                    Be real,

                                    lose appeal,

                                    save your soul.
